What is the difference between a Psychic and a Medium?
Simple Terms...
Psychics - Have the gift of viewing past, current, and future readings of a LIVING person.
Mediums - Have the gift of communicating with deceased people, typically those who have crossed over into the light.
What is a Psychic?
A psychic, as mentioned above, is an individual who is gifted with the abilities to be able to know what is going on with any living person as far as their past, present, and future. They have special "gifts" that cannot be explained by science.
Psychics can get the information by using their strongest senses (knowing, seeing, hearing) which is a type of "clair" sense.
Typical clear senses for psychics are visions and knowing. If a psychic uses their other senses, it is because a spirit is helping them, so at that point, they would be considered a medium. Most psychics use their intuition to receive the information on the client. This can also be done by reading the client's energy field (also known as aura) or the psychic can use the help of their personal spirit guides to help them pick up on the information of the client who wants the reading.
They can also sometimes use methods such as:

What is a Medium?
A medium, as mentioned above, is an individual who is gifted with the abilities to be able to communicate with spirits who have already crossed over into the light. Think of a medium like the telephone which acts as the connection between you and your crossed over loved one you want to connect with.
Just like psychics, mediums can get the information from the crossed over spirits through using their strongest senses (knowing, seeing, hearing, feeling, or smelling) which is a type of "clair" sense.
They do not have the ability to see the person's past, present, or future, unless the information is given to the medium by spirit which is a way of validating to the client that the medium is properly connected to the client's crossed over loved one.
Mediums use a technique which is typically referred to as "channeling" spirits. Types of channeling the medium uses could be:
- Trance Channeling: A technique where the medium allows spirit to take control of the medium's body in order to properly give the message from spirit to the client. This technique is considered to be the most dangerous and needs to be properly done or else the medium may accidently welcome a bad spirit.
- Automatic Writing: A technique where the medium meditates while allowing spirit to flow through the medium's hand to allow the spirit to write out the messages for the client.
- Light Mediumship: This one is more common as the medium can see, hear, or just know what the spirit is trying to say as if the spirit is a real person standing next to them alive.
A medium does not give out predictions, but they allow spirit to give out all of the information. Client's often need the medium to give the client confirmation that they are actually connected with the proper crossed over loved one in order for the client to be more open to receive the messages from spirit.
The main purpose of doing a mediumship reading, is for the client to know that their crossed over loved ones, although gone from our every day lives, are still there by their side, even though they may not be able to see them or feel them. It also helps to provide closure and beravement support for the client, along with helping to diminish the fear of death as our souls never die. Our crossed over loved ones like to provide messages of nothing but love, support, healing, and specific information to only help the client.

FAQ: Can someone be more than one? Can someone be both psychic AND medium?
Answer: Absolutely! Believe it or not, everyone is psychic (even if they don't know it). They just have to open up to this side of their intuition in order for them to clearly see it. All mediums are psychic. HOWEVER, not all psychics are a medium.
